A warm thank you to the Rooftop Garden community


As of Saturday, September 30th, the Roulant garden has been put to rest for the winter after a productive season. Thanks to all the courageous gardeners (above) who came out for the final push on Saturday! It was an unforgettable day of fun where a rainbow of emotions surrounded the end of the 2006 gardening season.

Sanou, Benjamin, Amélie et Rotem jouent aux touristes dans Stanley Park!!
Nous avons participé du 7 au 11 octobre, grâce à Santé Canada, à la conférence "Bridging borders toward Food Security" organisée par the Community Food Security Coalition (USA) et Sécurité alimentaire Canada. Cette escapade au "BC" nous a fortement inspirés pour les prochains projets Des jardins sur les toits.

With the fall coming fast, it is time to prepare the garden for the cold season! Join us and give us a hand for the big work session to close the garden! All the plants have to be put in compost bins to produce our own compost for the next gardening season. Lots of works to do!

Don't miss the last horticultural workshop of the season facilitated by Benjamin!

At the time many plants are going to seed, come learn the fundamentals of seed harvesting and conservation! We will prepare tomatoes, ground cherries and peppers seeds and we will harvest seeds from a great variety of plants who live on the roof.

Know It and Grow It!

GARDEN SEASON INAUGURATION & BLOCK PARTY

The Alternatives Rooftop Garden Project, Greening Duluth and the Université de la Terre present: Know It and Grow It! – a block party promoting the greening of Montreal.

Where: The House of Friendship; 120 Duluth Street East, at the corner of Coloniale
When: Saturday, May 15th, 2010 from 12pm to 8pm. Workshops at 1pm, 3pm, and 5pm. (If it’s raining on Saturday, the event will be held Sunday, May 16th.)
Price: Suggested donation of $10 to $20 per workshop.

Join us for the inauguration of gardening season – an afternoon of music, food and fun with family and friends!
